Country: United Kingdom
Description:
Label founded by Cosey Funni Tutti, Genesis P Orridge, Peter Christopherson and Chris Carter. A fifth member/mentor, Dietrich Albrecht alias Albrecht D. or Albrecht/d. left the band between the change from Music from the Death Factory to Industrial Records in 1977 but kept in close touch. It gave a whole style of music its name. Acts such as Throbbing Gristle, Clock DVA, Cabaret Voltaire and many more made it one of the most influential labels of all times. Officially registered on 6 January 1977, they received their Certificate of Incorporation (no. 1396998) on 11 June 1979. it stopped in 1981 due to the split of Throbbing Gristle, who ran the label. In 2004, the label was started up again, as were Throbbing Gristle. During the 1980's many reproductions of the cassette releases were made as well as many bootlegs.
