International Terrorist Network (I.T.N.)

Years running:
Country: United States
Description:

The International Terrorist Network cassette label was founded by Jeff Chenault in 1983.  It was a release vehicle for audio tapes released by Jeff Central and Pat Grafik.  The I.T.N. cassette catalogue existed from 1983 until around 1992.  Around 1993 the name was changed to Exoteque Music.  Everything was DIY from the recording process to the artwork and packaging.  The only tapes I cannot account for are numbers 19-22.  In fact, Numbers 1-18 would have remained unknown if I hadn't found the booklet for Stimulus & Response #1, which had the ITN tape catalog listed inside.  This booklet was dated Fall 1985 and was one of only 10 copies!! The I.T.N series officially ends with #53.

MARCH FORTH: An Evening of Electroterror

This is essentially a “Live” 3 band compilation recorded at Chelsie’s in Columbus, Ohio.

TOMORROW MAY BE DIFFERENT

This tape is the brainchild of Dan Williams under the guise of Idiot Box.  Dan is also known for his work in Early Morning Telescope, Contraption #37 and as the producer of “The Wits End.”  This tape was originally released by Damage Records back in 1986.  With kind permission we are happy to re-release it here.  C-45

NEW STRANGE THRILLS

This is the first and only studio release by the well hung band the Sex Musicians.  Jack MeHoff, Whip Antenna and Earl Domiqueco challenge all active listeners to this ultrasonic barrage of multimedia tape and vinyl manipulation of the highest plane imaginable.  Don’t say we didn’t warn ya!  C-45

HOLIDAY FOR STRYCHNINE

This incredible tape by 10-Speed Guillotine was originally available on the “Harsh Reality” music label.  We are releasing it here but in a slightly different form.  The “live” A Side is the same but the rare B Sides of the tape are different.  For those who have to have it all!  C-60

RESONANCE 3

The third in a series by the former members of 10-Speed Guillotine.  These excursions on the fringe of the audio spectrum keep developing more and more with each consecutive release.  One track was also used in a science fiction pilot film entitled; Tigeredge: Techno Punk.  HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!  C-45

A TERRIBLE SEETHING MASS

POWER SLUG

Exoteque Music is proud to announce this exclusive release by Evil Creates Evil.  This stereo action noise fest is the brainchild of David Miller of the Sick Muse label in Seattle.

A ritualistic orgy of sound and fury that pays homage to the Japanese noise scene.  Unlike most noise tapes though this release has a defined structure and is very well executed.  Lots of stereo action abounds and the recording itself is of a very high quality.  We are proud to offer this release of pure heated expression.  C-45

MUSIC FOR PEOPLE WHO CAN’T SLEEP

Latest compilation of audio deviance that is Greg as Good Cue Sign.  Assembled by Jeff Central this tape explores a more personal and some of the most intense pieces of work ever done by this extraordinary artist.  At times deliciously dark and surreal and at other times hilariously funny.  Pick this up at all costs!  C-60

HOLIDAY FOR STRYCHNINE VOL.2

Yet another compilation of unreleased recordings by the legendary 10-Speed Guillotine.  The one side is a very dark ambient piece done in the Pleasure Lab while side 2 concentrates on actual track that never made it on the first two studio releases.  C-60

STIMULUS & RESPONSE 1 (The REMASTERED Edition)

Hold on to your hats folks!  Jeff has rescued from the great dungeon heap of sonic bliss the very first Stimulus & Response cassette.  It has been remastered with two tracks being omitted for continuity.  This very early compilation done in the early eighties compiles the early audio experiments of Jeff Central and Pat Grafik exclusively.  Great early industrial sounding release.  C-45

TERRIBLE THINGS AS YET UNDREAMNT

A perfect title befitting this latest tape of audio drones and pure sound experiments by Central Inhabitants.  Some of the tracks were intended for use as “Music For Cotyledon”, a sonic sound installation device created by Bio-Logic Labs.  Another excursion from the mind of Jeff Central.  This may eventually see release on a CDR because of the frequency drawback inherent in the tape medium.  Guest appearances by Andy Izold throughout make for a sonic delight or sonic nightmare, you decide!  C-60

SOPHISTICATED SAVAGE

Picking up where the Sex Musicians left off The Weird Lovemakers are a force to be reckoned with.  The new lineup replaces Andy Izold (who is currently out West), with Mark Gunderson of The Evolution Control Committee.  It is a combination including electronica and eroticism on a grand scale.  Something Mark refers to as “Erectronica.”  This is their first release and includes a couple exotica type tracks.  C-60

SHORT:
International Terrorist Network or I.T.N. was formed in 1982 in Port Huron, Michigan. Ironically in the same town that Thomas Edison grew up in as a kid. Port Huron in the early eighties was a haven for underground artists and musicians such as Hunting Lodge, Shame, Exposure, John N. Wright, etc.). I.T.N. consisted of two members, Jeff Central and Pat Grafik. They went to school together and developed a mutual interest in the development of audio and video production. Both were interested in electronics and their role in the creative processes.
