These recordings were demos. An official demo tape with the same tracks called "Tape 1 ('75/'76)" was given to the journalist Jon Savage by the group in 1978 (recorded in his Search & Destroy article).

  Info my Stephen Malinder: "Yes this was what we sent out, rather than sold, to people. I'm pretty sure this was what went out to Jon Savage, Richard Boon and a few others but they were individually done. We'd had the Outer Limits stickers made and were putting them up guerrilla style in the city. It followed that we used them on the cassettes so I think it got named that by default. I think they were done individually - probably direct from the Revox so there wouldn't have been many made. The Moors Murders reference hasn't done us any favours but that was the shock tactics of the time
